Angelo Napolano appointed Knowledge Quarter Support Officer

The KQ Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Angelo Napolano as the Knowledge Quarter Project Support Officer. Angelo joins from Southbank Centre, where he worked as Event Assistant in the Arts Programming department.

To celebrate the International Year of Light, the Institute of Physics invites all Knowledge Quarter partners to join iSpex project in order to create a new map of the atmosphere and find out how clean the air is in London.

KQ Partner Collaboration: The Place and Wellcome Collection

Over the summer KQ partner The Place has been supporting 30 dance artists to research and develop performance ideas, and explore new artistic territory as part of Choreodrome, a biennial summer research programme for British-based dance makers.

Curious? Powered by the Knowledge Quarter

The Knowledge Quarter will host its first festival, Curious?, in partnership with King’s Cross, on 29 - 30 August 2015. Curious? will bring together Knowledge Quarter members such as The Guardian, The Foundling Museum, UCL, The Francis Crick Institute, Poet in the City and the British Library to present a series of performances, debates, workshops, experiments and lessons.

On the 25th June the Knowledge Quarter invited its partners to attend the second Knowledge Quarter partner networking event held at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.

Words on sheepskin

Poet Laila Sumpton, who presented on behalf of KQ Partner Poet in the City at the recent General Election event has collaborated with the British Library to write a poem about the Magna Carta, reflecting on the nature of rights and our ongoing battle for them.

Knowledge Quarter - South Korea Visit

Since the Knowledge Quarter (KQ) launched last December, there has been plenty of interest in the idea, not only within London and the UK but also internationally. KQ recently met with partners in Sydney, Australia but last week I was invited to speak about the KQ in Seoul, Korea.

Camden continues to call for extra Low Emission Zone measures

Following the Mayor of London’s confirmation on 26 March that an Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) will be introduced in central London in 2020, Camden Council has criticised the Mayor of London for not including Euston Road in the ULEZ scheme and will continue to campaign for further measures to combat poor air quality.
